As you can see, we have a great time at shows. We really enjoy meeting new people and making friends with our customers.  Don's background is as a consultant: sales management and marketing, mine is real estate sales and marketing.

We retired a few years ago and then were introduced to Lodge Logs through our son who lives in Nevada City, California.  He is a Lodge Log dealer and told us about this wonderful product which he was building. He thought it would be a great opportunity for us and Lodge Logs because the company was in the process of completing construction of their new state of the art mill in Boise and they were looking to expand their production so as to provide additional product for the New England market.  At the time their production was absorbed by demand in the western market and the Pacific Rim, but the East was on their radar screen.

Don went to Boise in July of 2001 and the rest is history.  We have spent a lot of time doing missionary work, introducing Lodge Logs to clients and builders in New England.  Using beautiful western woods and their perfected bolt through system of construction, the response has been very positive.  Most of our customers are people who have been looking for a long time or have spent time out West and are familiar with log home construction out there.

One of our first customers had been looking at log homes for 14 years.  Once he saw the beautiful, milled, dry Western Whitewood and Douglas Fir logs which are not grown in New England, he knew his search had ended.  The builders we work with who take pride in their homes are great emissaries because they know the finished product is superior to anything they have built before and they appreciate having their name associated with quality craftsmanship.

We strive to be the absolute best at what we do and we are there for our log home owners.  We are not builders, but we will assist you in locating and interviewing builders or making sure your builder understands the Lodge Log construction techniques. Having built our model Lodge Log home in Dover, NH, we are fully aware of the ins and outs of the building process, the support from the factory, the value of the master log builder who is the technical assistant to the project, the finishes to use, and all the important issues that the construction of a new Lodge Log home encompasses.  We work closely with our clients to assure they receive the best information.

As we were building our new Lodge Log home we had the opportunity to research all the wonderful new products on the market.  We visited showrooms, websites, model homes and spoke to hundreds of professionals in our quest to build a cutting edge, cost-efficient log home. Our goal was to use products that add value and comfort. We point to our radiant heating system from RTI who designed a home environment that is warm and quiet.  Every winter since we've lived here there are periods of bitter winter cold, but it has been hard to tell in our snug log home which has been heated very economically.  We know the end result for our finished Lodge Log home is a high quality, low maintenance home to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Every Lodge Log Home we build has a personal story behind it and we feel as though we are helping the owners fulfill their longtime dream and tell their log home story at last.  This profession is very rewarding and gratifying, and that's why we are pleased to be Lodge Log Homes of New England.

Here is our booth at the West Springfield Show.
